One of my close friends Khurram got married last weekend to the lovely Jo. The whole day took place at The Petersham, a beautiful hotel in Richmond, and the weather was just perfect for them. They had a very intimate ceremony for family, with the adorable ring-bearer keeping us all entertained, followed by champagne and then lunch. As a friend I was very privileged to be there and share it with them (and take some shots to capture the day of course).
All of us friends will all be able to celebrate properly with Mr and Mrs, and LOTS of bubbles, some time next year when Jo can have more than just a sip, after the birth this summer of their first child. I can’t wait! Another excuse for me to take some pictures!
Earlier this week I had a fantastic session with a truly lovely family. Claire contacted me to photograph her children as a surprise 25th Wedding Anniversary gift for her husband. The cleverly orchestrated shoot, which saw the children coming into to London from various parts of the country, took place at their stunning pied-a-terre. They were such a pleasure to photograph and we had a fab couple of hours, with Alex’s adorable little dog Harvey posing in a few of the shots too! I hope their Dad likes his surprise.
I photographed Frankie’s parents’ wedding a few years ago and then Frankie when he was just a bump and again when he was two weeks old. So it a pleasure when they asked me to photograph the newest member of the Milson clan, his little brother Stanley, when he too was two weeks old.
The family came over to my house on Sunday afternoon. Stanley was so well behaved and took it all in his stride. There were a few tears but that might have been when his big brother hugged him a little too tight! We took the opportunity to take a few more shots of Frankie, who is such a character, and some new family pictures too. Mum looks especially great when you think she gave birth just 2 weeks ago! Congratulations Milsons! Look forward to some more photo fun with you all in the future…. Number 3?
I know they say you shouldn’t work with children or animals but they happen to be two of my favourite subjects to photograph, as you just never know what they’ll do! I became hooked on photographing dogs when I was the proud owner of a nutty little mutt called Jake. Jake and his friends at Mink Farm (his doggie day-care) were too adorable not to take pictures of constantly and I was always being asked to do portraits of these extra special family members.
Poppy was one of those dogs. She was just so sweet and we had a great session with her in the garden at her house much to her owners’ surprise who thought she was going to be quite shy. They couldn’t have been more wrong; she loved the camera, as these few pictures show!
